THE LIVERWORD NEWS

                                                       20/01/11

Transfer Rumours - Liverpool are reportedly going to try and tempt £12 million rated Cluj striker to Anfield if Suarez doesn't come to Anfield.
THELIVERWORD SAYS - I hope we get Suarez but if we don't we certainly need another striker.

Transfer Rumours - Liverpool target Dimitri Payet of St Etienne has broken contract talks with the club and the right winger could leave at the end of the season.
THELIVERWORD SAYS - We do need more width in the team and good to see we are looking at wingers.

Transfer Rumours - Reports suggest Blackpool's Charlie Adam will move to Anfield this month.
THELIVERWORD SAYS - Adam has improved so much since his Rangers days and I think he may do a good job at Anfield.

Hoffenheim - Have confirmed Ryan Babel has other options as he mulls over a move away from Anfield. Hoffenheim have agreed a fee of £6 million with Liverpool for the player but Babel is keeping his options open.
THELIVERWORD SAYS - Babel has had more than a chance at Anfield and I hope we can use the money for him to help in a deal for Suarez.

Transfer Rumour - reports suggest Paul Konchesky could be loaned back to Fulham until the end of the season.
THELIVERWORD SAYS - Konchesky has not looked good enough so better playing somewhere else.

Transfer Rumours - reports suggest Liverpool and Ajax are about £8 million apart in their valuation of Luis Suarez.
THELIVERWORD SAYS - I believe we need to burst the bank for him as he is a quality player and signing him would send out a message to others of our clubs intentions to compete at the top.

Liverpool Reserves have been drawn against Prescot Cables in the quarter finals of the Liverpool Senior Cup. They will play on Tuesday the 1st February at Valerio Park.
THELIVERWORD SAYS - The reserves are doing well this season so hopefully they can defend this trophy they won last summer.

Reserve Team Coach John McMahon heaped praise on Joe Cole after his performance in last night's 1-0 win over Manchester City in the quarter final of the Lancashire Senior Cup. Danny Wilson also impressed playing 45 minutes. Argentine youngster Gerardo Bruna scored the winner.
THELIVERWORD SAYS - Great to hear Joe Cole playing well I still think he has a lot to offer and just needs a run in the team. Wilson is a tremendous prospect and I would play him in the first team instead of Skrtel.
